MiddleGround Partners II is the second flagship fund in MiddleGround Capital’s industrial buyout platform. It focuses on control-oriented investments in lower-middle-market B2B industrial manufacturing and specialty distribution businesses, predominantly in North America. The fund’s portfolio includes industrial infrastructure, worker-safety, flow-control and automotive-technology businesses, with certain investments made alongside MiddleGround’s Mobility Opportunity Fund.
Founded in 2018, MiddleGround Capital is a private equity manager focused on lower-middle-market B2B industrial manufacturing and specialty distribution companies in North America and Europe. The firm makes control equity investments and applies an operationally focused ownership approach. Its team works with management teams on company-specific operating and value-creation plans, drawing on experience in manufacturing, operations and private equity.

- Lindsay Precast — Designer and manufacturer of engineered precast concrete structures serving water, utility, renewable energy, transportation and government infrastructure markets.
- Vytl Controls Group — Provider of flow-control products and services for industrial maintenance, repair and operations applications; the investment was exited in 2026.
- SixAxis — Manufacturer of modular worker-safety and access solutions, including stairway, platform, fall-protection and bulk-loading systems.
- Xtrac — Supplier of motorsport and high-performance automotive transmission systems. The investment was made alongside the Mobility Opportunity Fund.
- IT8 — Provider of mechanical, electrical and programming engineering services, as well as construction services, serving automotive and warehouse-automation end markets. The investment was made alongside the Mobility Opportunity Fund.
