Overview
MiddleGround Mobility Opportunity Fund invests alongside MiddleGround’s core funds in automotive supply-chain businesses positioned around powertrain electrification, vehicle lightweighting, and connected and autonomous vehicle technologies. The fund extends the manager’s automotive operating experience to mobility-oriented transactions.
Founded in 2018, MiddleGround Capital is a private equity manager focused on lower-middle-market B2B industrial manufacturing and specialty distribution businesses in North America and Europe. The firm makes control investments and applies a hands-on operating approach, combining in-house operational experience with transaction and investment capabilities. It works with management teams on company-specific operating and value-creation plans across industrial end markets, including automotive and transportation.

- DURA Automotive — Designer and manufacturer of engineered automotive systems, including mechatronics, lightweight structures, exterior trim, shift-by-wire actuators, driver-assistance systems, battery trays, and control systems.
- Shiloh Industries — Manufacturer of lightweight automotive solutions for body structures, chassis, and propulsion systems, using aluminum, magnesium, steel, and acoustic-laminate materials.
- Plasman — Manufacturer of automotive exterior products and systems, including bumpers, fascia, grilles, exterior trim, and subsystem components.
- New Eagle — Provider of hardware and software technologies used to develop mechatronic control systems, including applications for electric and autonomous vehicles.
- Xtrac — Designer and manufacturer of transmission systems for professional motorsport and specialized high-performance automotive applications across internal-combustion, hybrid, and electric vehicles.
- Integral Powertrain Limited (Helix) — Designer and manufacturer of high-performance electric motors, high-voltage inverters, and integrated electric drive units for mobility applications.
